ABOUT DRUK WANG ALLOYS LIMITED
Druk Wang Alloys is a public limited company established in 2005 to produce Ferro Silicon in Bhutan. The company has been registered under the Companies Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan 2000 and is listed on the Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan.
The main promoters are Dasho Dorji Norbu, Gup Thinley Dorji and Mr. Samdrup Norbu. All promoters are well established business personalities with vast experience in various fields of business and industry.
Druk Wang Alloys Limited has installed a 18MVA Submerged Arc Furnace at Pasakha Industrial Estate, Pasakha, Bhutan. The plant has a rated capacity of 12,000 metric tons of Ferro Silicon per annum. The furnace is a semi closed type with a rotation system controlled by a PLC system to ensure maximum efficiency and product quality. The raw materials are weighed and batched automatically through the PLC.
Raw materials are sourced from Bhutan and India. The main raw material quartzite is widely available in Bhutan; the company buys its requirement from local mines approved by the Department of Geology and Mines. Other raw materials such as Charcoal, Coal, Low Ash Metallurgical Coke, Quartz, Casing Sheet, MS Roads, Lacing Tubes and Electrode Paste are procured from reputed manufactures and suppliers in India.
The strength of the company lies in the “quality power” that is available in Bhutan, the consistent and stable supply of power ensures efficient operation of the furnace and thus lower production costs.
Loaction
The plant is located at Plot No. L 8 at the New Industrial Estate, Pasakha, about 19 Kilometers away from the main commercial town of Phuentsholing, Bhutan.

The management consists of the Board of Directors, Managing Director and a team of well experienced professionals. All the promoters and the public are represented on the Board of Directors for a balanced and comprehensive management .

Environmental Policy
With Gross National Happiness being the Philosophy of Bhutan and preservation of the environment being one of the pillars of GNH, we aim to comply with all the environmental policies of the Royal Government of Bhutan. The company has installed a Gas Cleaning Plant to control emission within the stringent requirements of the government. All the products of the company are manufactured using Clean Green Hydro generated electricity.
The company conducts safety and awareness programs to educate the employees and create a safe working environment.
The company has been certified for ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 since 24, July 2014.
